About Us

Our Purpose

The enCore Education Society shall exist for the purpose of providing financial resource and educational opportunities to US citizens which are high school, college and university students with a focus on trades and professions necessary for the In-Situ Recovery (“ISR”) uranium extraction process providing the fuel for nuclear energy. Through related activities, the Corporation shall also seek to preserve and expand the opportunity for graduates and registered college/university students to further their educational opportunities by engaging them in programs including internships and mentorship programs. The Corporation is a non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Texas. The service area of the Corporation consists of counties where enCore Energy Corp. operates.

Core Values

The work of the enCore Education Society is grounded in a fundamental belief that our youth are critical to the success of our communities, our industrial sector and our nation. Our board members serve out of loyalty and responsibility to the organization’s mission and provide essential oversight and accountability to the organization’s beneficiaries, donors, and the broader public. In carrying out our mission, the enCore Education Society embraces the following core nonprofit values:

Respect

At all times we treat all with the greatest of professional respect and best practices.

Courage

We believe that leadership takes courage — a willingness to take risks in the pursuit of transformational change. We aspire to be courageous by working to identify and address, in unique and creative ways, the gaps in the labour market and seek means to solve the issues by creating opportunity. We seek to challenge our donors, our recipients and our corporation to be bold and courageous as they work to expand their impact.

Collaboration

We believe in the value of working with others and achieving together what may not be possible alone. We aspire to bring a collaborative spirit and strategy to all that we do, learning from the insights and leadership of others, and sharing openly what they may be able to learn from us. Get the Edge from Education, enCore’s Education Society, is our way of both giving back to our communities of interest while simultaneously building the workforce of the next generation. We are aware of how our initiatives can fundamentally transform the lives of local communities and stakeholders, and we work hard to strengthen our relationship with local partners and suppliers.

Innovation

We are excited to share our new initiative, starting in 2024, as we embark on an education-focused program to enhance education centered around In-Situ Recovery technology, a growing industry with many opportunities for our youth. We believe that leadership requires innovation, a willingness to ask tough questions, and a commitment to learning and deeper understanding. We aspire to be curious in the work that we do, and to inspire curiosity in others.

Community

We envision a future where the youth of the communities in the United States have acquired the skills and leadership to fulfill their career goals in a growing industry that supplies clean, reliable domestic fuel for energy. And that these skills are transferable and can carry our future leaders into satisfying and fulfilling careers.  We believe that a commitment to all people of our community is essential to making this vision a reality.

Community Needs Assessment

The enCore Education Society addresses the need to develop a new labor force for the In-Situ Recovery extraction sector of uranium production. We find ourselves operating at a time when the world is embracing nuclear fuel as a clean, reliable, and safe zero-carbon fuel source, with unparalleled bi-partisan support in the United States. This, combined with geopolitical tensions, has highlighted the essential need for domestic uranium in the United States to fuel energy needs and the growing demand for a domestic labor force to benefit from and help provide reliable and affordable baseload power.

Our challenge in the sector is to attract and retain key personnel and maintain the consistent execution of the US strategy to develop a nuclear energy sector for domestic energy. There is a labor shortage and a lack of experienced workers and technical personnel. Drawing people with experience in uranium production, petrochemical processing, and oil and gas drilling operations is a challenge and finding these people in small, rural communities where we work is an even bigger one. There is a need to build the next generation of industry leaders and build future leaders through various initiatives including scholarships, internships, and mentorship programs.

Initiatives

Get the Edge from Education Scholarship Programs

We are committed to supporting education and empowering talented individuals to achieve their academic and career goals. The ‘Get the Edge from Education’ Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to deserving high school, university and college students who demonstrate high academic achievements, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

The enCore Education Society will allocate resources annually through scholarships on a criteria-based selection program, to a number of disciplines, that is transparent and open to all eligible applicants based on educational achievement, financial need and location of community.

The enCore Education Society will be managed by a Board of Directors and will undergo an annual independent audit, as well as employ an independent accounting firm, to assist in the accurate management of finances.

Get the Edge from Education Mentorship Program

The Mentorship Program is designed to give mid-level and senior management the “leg up” they need to further develop their careers and understand the operations of a large scale ISR uranium production company. The mentorship program will be led by senior executives and is vital for nurturing leadership talent, sharing industry-specific knowledge, and ensuring organizational continuity. It will focus on mid-level and senior management and provide opportunities and guidance for growth from proven industry leaders. The program will be structured around guiding future leaders, transferring technical expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the uranium production industry.

Experienced C-level enCore executive and senior management mentors will be matched to carefully-selected applicants based on their career goals, areas for development, personal compatibility and specific needs within the context of uranium production to provide fuel for nuclear energy.

Get the Edge from Education Internship Program

The Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills that are highly transferable across various sectors. While the focus is on the intricacies and management of uranium production, development of the necessary skills and hands-on experience from range from reporting requirements to operational safety protocols and technical expertise. Participants will develop a versatile skill set that can be leveraged in diverse professional environments beyond the realm of the uranium sector. Our paid internship programs are offered either part time or full-time and are available as a Co-Op (4-6 month term, part-time or full-time), Summer term (4 months, full-time) and as a School-to-Career transition for new graduates (temporary or permanent).

We believe in providing valuable learning experiences to students while contributing to their professional growth and development. We have access to an impressive amount of talent and experience in the uranium sector and a need to develop the future labor force and leaders in our industry. We look forward to sharing our cumulative knowledge and expertise to provide the next generation with the skills they need to succeed in their career.
